Fatalities since the start of Israel’s military offensive in Gaza.
Assessing the damage
UNITAR compared satellite images collected July 25 with pre-crisis images collected July 6 to determine the level of damage in three areas targeted by the Israeli offensive against Hamas. This is a preliminary analysis that has not yet been validated in the field.
Many damaged buildings are outside of the evacuation zone, including a refugee camp and an elementary school which was hit by shelling, killing at least 15 of the 3,300 Palestinians sheltering inside.
Weeks of air raids and shelling by the Israel Defense Forces has left much of Gaza City in ruin.
Rockets fired into Israel
The IDF claims that over 3,300 rockets have been fired towards Israel since the beginning of the offensive.
